Terms & Conditions

STUDENT-MISSED LESSON OR CANCELLATIONS: Out of courtesy, students should notify their Tutor of any absence for any reason. However, prior notification does NOT exempt the student from payment. 

 

There are no makeup lessons or rescheduling of private instruction or classes in cases of student absences when the students fail to show up. As a reminder, except to discuss otherwise, during a student's absence or vacation,  your tuition amount stays the same. Tuition works the same as rent. No matter if the student is in attendance or not, your tuition rate always charges. You are paying for your space in the program, not your attendance. If you anticipate a vacation or prolonged absence of two or more weeks, or you want to reschedule or cancel, please inform the Tutor as soon as possible, and follow the rules and notice periods in your agreement. 

 

We offer a payment waiver for vacations, but please note that we are making the following changes effective immediately:  

 

Payment Waiver:

If the Student informs the Tutor about their family vacation, recess, traveling, school activities, games, etc., with at least 15 calendar days in advance via Notice provisions detailed in this Agreement, Spanishtutor4u will be able to waive: One (1) lesson maximum per month (for a month of 4 weeks). And Two (2) lessons (for a month of 5 weeks). Three lessons are the minimum for a month and mandatory to pay, to continue to secure your spot in the program. If you have already paid in full for the current month, we can apply the discount to the following month's bill. Except to discuss otherwise, we cannot waive consecutive months and no more than two times per student in a calendar year. 

 

Public Holidays: 

Spanishtutor4u is closed on the following holidays: the 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. 

For other public holidays, the Student can ask the Tutor to reschedule a lesson or ask a Tutor for a break following the rules for cancellation and rescheduling. 

If we (Spanishtutor4u) are closed for holidays, the students will not be charged for the lesson and will not be considered a payment waiver. Therefore, the students will have two opportunities in a calendar year to waive a lesson following the above.

 

Rescheduling: 

 

I hope you understand that rescheduling is unusual in the educational business, therefore we have made efforts to offer this privilege and flexibility to our students. That is why for us to continue offering this flexibility, we need your help in maintaining an order. Please note that rescheduling is an exception and not a rule.

 

Please consider that we can only reschedule in our available schedule options. We apologize for any inconvenience, but our available schedules are very limited at this moment, due to an increase of students in our programs, and we cannot accommodate or adapt to your availability or warranty any other schedule besides the regular spot that you have. 

 

Rescheduling for Groups: 

For a group lesson, rescheduling is limited and only possible if all the members of the group agree on a new schedule, and only if the new schedule will not affect the other students. Otherwise, the lesson will take place in the normal schedule and the missing student can request a recorded lesson. 

 

Rescheduling for Private Session: 

Rescheduling for a private session is more flexible, however, as mentioned above, our available spots are very limited at this moment, and we cannot warranty that the student will find a schedule option that works. In that case, we can only offer a recorded lesson. 

 

Medical Field, First Responders, and other particular fields: We offer more flexibility with rescheduling and accommodating to a changing schedule. However, if rescheduling is not possible, we will provide a recorded lesson. 

Please consider following all the rest of the above rules for cancellations, vacations, no-shows, payment waivers, etc. 

Please communicate with your Tutor for other particular situations.


 

Cancellation: 

 

We kindly remind you that our cancellation notice is 30 days in advance. Otherwise, the student will be charged for the scheduled lessons. Please consider that you will need to give notice no later than the first of the month, to be effective on the first day of the following month. The cancellation agrees with our billing period. 

 

Again, please remember that Tuition works the same as rent. No matter if the student is in attendance or not, your tuition rate always charges. You are paying for your space in the program, not your attendance. 

 

If your schedule is very busy, and live sessions are difficult, please consider that we have a different option which is personalized recorded sessions.
