Founder & Head Tutor

My name is Maria Giammattei, and I am a Co-Founder and Head Tutor at Spanishtutor4u. As a native Spanish speaker from El Salvador, the smallest country in Central America, I am also a devoted wife and mother to four amazing children. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost twenty-five years, and we currently reside in California.

​

Back in El Salvador, I attended law school, became a lawyer, and worked in the legal field for 15 years. As an associate attorney for an international law firm, my responsibilities included legal translations, both written and oral, from English to Spanish.

​

My family and I relocated to England, UK, where we lived for two years before moving to California in 2016.

​

I continued working as a legal translator until several former colleagues inquired if I could teach them Spanish. They recognized its importance in California for work, family connections, and travel to Latin America and Spain. I started with one student, then two, then three, and so on.

 

Now, I am proud to say that over 35 permanent students, and counting, trust our method of teaching the language.

​

Outside of work, I enjoy music, culture, and literature. Reading in both English and Spanish has long been a favorite pastime. Dancing and swimming are also part of my daily routine.

 

However, my greatest joy comes from spending time with my family and embarking on trips and adventures together.

Additionally, I specialize in assisting students taking Spanish in school and university.

 

I can modestly say that I have supported many students for over four years, achieving excellent results, including helping them improve their grades from F to A.

​

I have discovered that with patience, dedication, perseverance, and a consistent study routine, we are all capable of learning another language. Language acquisition is a natural instinct, and we simply need to activate it to begin seeing results.

​

Now that I have found a new passion in teaching Spanish as a second—or even third or fourth—language, I am committed to helping my students fulfill their goals and purposes.

I am your Tutor Carlos,

I am a fortunate person because Spanishtutor4u has allowed me to teach the Spanish language to young people who wish to improve their skills for reasons such as schoolwork or communicating with family and friends who live in other countries. I am currently a sophomore Kinesiology student at California State University at Fullerton.

 

During high school, I was awarded the State Seal of Biliteracy for being fully proficient in English and Spanish, which has opened doors for me in college and work opportunities. Also played soccer for the school Varsity Team being one of the top scorers!.

 

I congratulate you very much for the great step you are about to take and I hope to be the person who can help you achieve your goals in this precious language that is Spanish.

¡Hola amigos!

 

I am your Tutor Luis, with 15 years of experience in teaching business communications at university level in my country El Salvador. My academic background is in communication sciences, public relations, and business.  I have worked in different areas and industries such as music, insurance, construction, retail, clothing manufacturing, human resources and customer service. 

 

I am a very fortunate man, married for almost 25 years to my beautiful wife Maria, entrepreneur and founder of Spanishtutor4u and father of four wonderful children. I love music, photography, painting, and movies. Enjoy having good conversations about art. Also a huge fan of sports, especially European soccer leagues and MLS. 

 

Spanish is a very important language specially in the United States where approximately 54 million people speak it, so I feel very lucky to be able to help people learn or improve their knowledge of this beautiful language here at Spanishtutor4u.

 

I am sure that with my experience we can have so much fun while learning at the same time. Looking forward to helping you with this important decision.
